Labor’s representative Colin Brooks has comfortably held the Bundoora seat for 8 years. Brooks securely won the majority with 62.2 per cent of the votes held in the 2014 election. The Bundoora seat will be directly impacted by Labor’s 50 billion Suburban Rail Link that was proposed by the Labor Government early in the year.

Bundoora is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 16 km north of Melbourne’s Central Business District. Its local government areas are the Cities of Banyule, Darebin and Whittlesea. At the 2016 Census, Bundoora had a population of 28,653. Bundoora is the headquarters of La Trobe University, Bundoora Campus. Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) also has a campus situated in Bundoora. The word Bundoora is derived from “Kelbundoora”, the name of a 19th-century Wurundjeri man.
