Transport and infrastructure top voter concerns in Cooper
With its relative proximity to Melbourne’s CBD, life in the fast-growing seat of Cooper means high demand for public transport, constant road works, new infrastructure and concerns over sustainability.
The Victorian metropolitan seat covers the area formerly known as Batman, including the city council of Darebin, and parts of the city councils of Moreland and Yarra.
Once safe Labor territory, Batman was last won by the ALP in a by-election in March 2018, in a tightly fought contest with the Greens.
We asked the residents of the seat of Cooper about their main concerns ahead of the upcoming federal election.
