LNP holding Fisher and Fairfax easily again
The Sunshine Coast is on track to remain an LNP stronghold after Fisher’s Andrew Wallace and Fairfax’s Ted O’Brien both looked to be retaining their seats with comfortable margins.
O’Brien and Wallace entered Parliament at the last election and are expected to continue to represent an area that has traditionally supported the Coalition.
At 9.30pm, with only 36% of the vote counted, Mr Wallace had 61.2% of the two-candidate preferred vote ahead of Labor’s Daniel Parsell.
In Fairfax, Mr O’Brien collected 62.6% of the two-candidate preferred vote after 34% of the vote had been counted, well in front of Labor candidate Julie McGlone.
