Election day: view from Cooper
Cooper is the inner Melbourne electorate where a tight contest was fought between Labor and the Greens – the so called “the battle for Bell Street” between the gentrified inner-city suburbs of Melbourne, in the south of the seat and the working class, migrant strongholds of the north.
It’s been a fight to secure the interests of as many progressive voters as possible, as Natasha Pietrobuono reports from Cooper for Election 2019.
