Bollywood megastar’s humanitarian efforts recognised
A university in Victoria grants an honorary doctorate to Shah Rukh Khan
He may be the Tom Cruise of Bollywood, but it’s Shah Rukh Khan’s efforts for charity that were in the spotlight, as Melbourne’s La Trobe University gave the award-winning Indian actor and producer a honorary doctorate.
The degree was in recognition of Mr Khan’s humanitarian work and awarded during his visit to Melbourne for the 2019 Indian Film Festival.
La Trobe also announced a special four year PhD scholarship in Mr Khan’s name, for a female student from India to research either health, sport, information technology, cybersecurity or engineering.
