Fairytale endings, financial woes pepper Bulldogs’ history
The Western Bulldogs are one of the oldest teams currently playing in the AFL.
Formed in 1877, they were the eighth team to be established and they remain in the top professional tier of the game.
Based in Melbourne’s western suburb of Footscray, the Bulldogs have endured a lot throughout their history.
On many occasions, financial issues have threatened to derail their existence, as Josh Riseley reports.
