Finalists announced for Democracy’s Watchdogs’ 2020 awards

Democracy’s Watchdogs is pleased to announce the finalists for its inaugural award for student investigative journalism.

From a strong field of candidates, the finalists stood out for their exceptional journalistic excellence, with stories that exposed information about issues of public significance and demonstrated ‘digging’ by the reporters.

The winner will be announced on Friday, December 11. The winner will receive $1000 plus an engraved trophy; the other finalists this year will received $500 and a certificate. In addition, one of the judges will congratulate them personally.

Check out the announcement and our interviews with Australia’s top investigative journalists.

We’ll be running this comp again next year and hope to see your stories in the mix.

Cheers,
