The release of the “Do Better” report into the Collingwood football club (showing how it handled systematic racism) and the subsequent exit of president Eddie McGuire has highlighted a changing landscape in the Australian media when it comes to racism in sport.
While racism in sport was never overtly celebrated, there was often a blind eye to it among several respected media outlets and programs, as Gavin Kalisperis reports.
