Misconceptions stopping potential new blood donors
The Australian Red Cross collects around 1.3 million blood donations each year, which are used to treat a wide variety of different medical conditions.
While this may sound like a large amount, the short shelf life of blood means that more donations are constantly needed to fill demand.
But misconceptions about what the experience is like could be stopping potential new donors, as Kurt Fraser reports.
