Communication lacking during floods
The recent New South Wales floods have again highlighted the inadequacy of communication systems during times of disaster.
During the Northern Rivers floods earlier this year, these limitations were particularly stark for local Elders.
Murwillumbah Elders found modern communication methods insufficient in the March 2022 floods and demand that authorities start considering their needs and abilities.
