Journalism is ‘The Antidote’: thought leaders call for change

Renowned journalists and international thought leaders were among the great minds who featured at this year’s Antidote Festival.

Peter Greste, Maria Ressa and Tim Flannery joined the line-up of impressive speakers on September 1 who shared their views on press freedom, the evolving media landscape and responsible reporting of climate change.

Hosted by the Sydney Opera House in partnership with the Judith Neilson Institute for Journalism and Ideas, the festival aimed at addressing the “urgent problems facing the world right now”.

The Judith Neilson Institute invited Macleay College journalism students to attend the festival, interview key speakers and produce a short documentary that captures the spirit of the festival and those vital conversations.
