Catholics in Victoria fear for confessional
Last month, the Catholic Church rejected the royal commission’s recommendation that the seal of confession should not apply to revelations of abuse. In Victoria, failure to report abuse will soon be a crime, with clergy facing up to three years in prison. Some Catholics fear that a time-honoured sacrament is at risk, but are those fears justified?
