Brian McKiterick has been a councillor in the Surf Coast Shire for 10 years and has served as the shire’s mayor twice. As a police officer for over 40 years, his campaign focuses heavily on community safety and local engagement. He recently announced he would, if elected, push for a police station to be built in growing Geelong suburb Leopold, which falls in the Bellarine electorate. He has lived in the Bellarine/Surf Coast area with his family for 25 years.
